Washington Water Trust’s 2024 Annual Report is hot off the press! Last year was tough for our freshwater. A statewide drought, the fifth in the past ten years, worsened water challenges like overuse and put salmon, steelhead, and other species in danger. But we made real streamflow restoration progress with our partners and supporters.
We boosted flows in the Dungeness River, allowing Chinook salmon to reach spawning grounds. We protected flows across the Washington-Oregon border for the first time, providing vital water for fish in Mill Creek. We hosted water rights workshops, sharing knowledge and building relationships to restore flows in new watersheds. And that’s just a sample of our impact!
Washington’s freshwater faces increasingly difficult conditions as temperatures rise and snowpack decreases. We need your help to protect more water instream to build long-term resilience for our rivers and streams.
Will you make a tax-deductible gift today to restore flows in more rivers and streams across Washington? The first $10,000 donated through May 7 will be matched dollar for dollar to double your impact.
Thank you for restoring Washington’s rivers and streams and flowing with us towards a brighter freshwater future!
