Chinook salmon

The Dungeness is experiencing one of its worst water years on record. With so little water in the Dungeness River, salmon are vulnerable while they are returning to spawn. WWT is coordinating pulse flows with local partners and securing water leases to help salmon and other wildlife during the drought.

Washington Water Trust partnered with farmers and the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe to support fish migration during drought in the Dungeness last summer. An innovative private and public funding combination led by Amazon and the Washington State Department of Ecology made this critical drought program possible.
