Harlan Gough

Harlan grew up in Eastern Washington before getting a BS in Biology from Western Washington University where he also served as a Research Assistant for the Whatcom County Extension working with agricultural landowners. He completed his PhD in Biology at the University of Florida where his studies included extensive field work in freshwater and terrestrial environments in Washington, Arizona, and Florida. After graduating he served as a Conversation Biologist for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and as a Wildlife Biologist Guide in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Most recently Harlan worked for the USFWS, where he served four National Wildlife Refuges in Eastern Washington and Oregon engaging local partners, managing grants, and conducting field investigations in the Walla Walla basin. Harlan is a lifelong naturalist who enjoys backpacking, collecting wild mushrooms, and fly fishing on our incredible public lands.
