Lorri Bodi Water Leadership Program

The Lorri Bodi Water Leadership Program supports students in discovering solutions to pressing freshwater challenges. WWT will partner with institutions to give students the opportunity to design programs and policies that can make a difference for rivers, streams, and fish.

Inspiring future leaders and better solutions

The Bodi/Eglick family and Washington Water Trust (WWT) created the Lorri Bodi Water Leadership Program to honor former WWT board member Lorraine “Lorri” Bodi.

Lorri was an inspirational mother, wife, community leader, legal expert, and environmental advocate. She loved serving her community and dedicated her career to helping rivers, streams, and salmon. In retirement, Lorri continued to follow her passions by serving on the WWT board of directors and on the Lake Forest Park City Council.

The Lorri Bodi Water Leadership Program inspires and develops future water and conservation leaders in Washington state and beyond. WWT is partnering with the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy & Governance to provide students an opportunity to meet current leaders in the field and work on some of the most pressing challenges facing Washington’s water through capstone projects and internships.

Through the Lorri Bodi Water Leadership Program, WWT is hosting a team of Evans School Masters of Public Administration students in 2026 to research ways that Washington water policy and law can be modernized to ensure rivers and streams have the water necessary for salmon and to honor Tribal resources, culture, and treaty rights.

WWT is also hosting an Evans School intern who is evaluating the state’s implementation of the Streamflow Restoration Act. These students will gain valuable experience while also contributing to freshwater conservation and restoration in Washington.

Anna Eglick Bodi, Lorri’s daughter, shares: “The goal is for each student in the Lorri Bodi Water Leadership Program to gain experience making a current contribution to streamflow preservation and local water conservation while preparing for future leadership roles in the field. The program will ensure that, through these bright students and WWT, Lorri’s environmental legacy will continue.”
