On Thursday, April 17, Washington Water Trust and our community lost a special friend.
It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of long-time WWT board member Lorri Bodi.
Lorri was a champion for the environment, rivers, and salmon. She was also a community leader and most recently served as Deputy Mayor of Lake Forest Park.
Lorri was an attorney with a background in natural resource law and policy, focusing on collaboration and partnerships with Tribes and other governmental entities. These values are central to WWT’s mission, too.

She established and served as Co-Director of the Northwest Office of American Rivers (a national conservation group) and as an attorney for both NOAA and EPA.
Lorri brought a collaborative mindset to her work as Executive Vice President for Environment at the Bonneville Power Administration, where she oversaw conservation land and water acquisitions, river and estuary habitat restoration, stormwater management, and other environmental programs.
Lorri sparkled in every role and venue. She was a strong voice on the WWT Board. Lorri was brilliant, charming, and delightfully funny. We will deeply miss her care and contributions, and will carry forward her positive, collaborative approach to river conservation.
